The Chestnut Flour from Chestnut Brae is locally produced by the farm owners of Chestnut Brae in Nannup, WA. The chestnuts are harvested every autumn and are dried from the nuts to remove at least 78% of moisture before they're milled in the only dedicated flour mill in Australia which is located on the farm.
Chestnut Flour is absolutely gluten-free, vegan-friendly and contains high quality of essential proteins with amino acids, high in fibre, low in fat and a good source of Vitamin C, B1, B2 and Folate, which are some essential elements other gluten-free flours are often lacking.
Chestnut Flour is very versatile and works well in combination with flours like rice flour, potato, corn and tapioca. It can be used on its own in your baking recipe to make flat breads, pancakes, crepes, biscuits, polenta, gnocchi, muffins and pastries! It definitely adds nutritional value to your daily meal plans!
